ABOUT US

Our purpose is to enrich the lives of the children at Omie's Home by providing financial assistance for their basic daily needs and to build relationships that prayerfully will last a lifetime. We realize we cannot help all the hundreds of thousands of children in India, but we can show Jesus through our love, compassion, and friendship to the children who currently live in the home. We can be a positive witness to the neighborhood and to the extended families directly associated with the home.

In 2012 we were able to realize one of our long-term goals. We were able to purchase a plot of land and build our own home for our children and staff. What a blessing it was to dedicate this new home in 2013. Our children were able to move or "shift" as they would say, in January 2014.

In 2019, we completed a second home and moved the girls from the rental property into a permanent home on the same property as the boy's home.

In the last 15 years, over 600 children have passed through Omie's Home. The children that come to the home are either orphaned, coming out of abuse or their families can't afford to care for them.

In addition to caring for their physical needs, it is important to support them in getting an education. Omie's Home pays for all the children to attend school. Omie's Home will continue to support the children through college. Many of the children consider Omie's Home to be their home and will come back when they are older to drop off groceries or clothes for the children still in the home.

The beyond portion of Omie's Home involves partnering with local churches, working in a Leper community, providing for the homeless and ministering to the widows.
