Destination India: June 2014 Volume 8, Issue 2

Dear Friends of Omie’s Home,
Today is the first day of summer here in the US. While it continues to be hot in India, the monsoon season is late again this year. Rains needed to start the sowing season generally start June 1st but according to reports, they are falling behind thus making it difficult for farmers to begin their planting. I sometimes wonder how they cope with such extremes. Pray that the monsoons will arrive and be plentiful so that there will be no need to purchase water as we have had to do in the past.

The new house has a fresh water well but if the country experiences a decrease in monsoon rains, ground water can dry up quickly.

Dot with Mile 2June also marks the beginning of a new school year. We were blessed once again to hold our Mile 2 concert and Taste of India on June 7, 2014. This was later than usual for us due to scheduling conflicts with our regular venue and the band but fortunately we were able to hold this event at Living Faith Alliance Church this year. Thank you to all who made the evening a success. We raised $1836.00 and thanks goes to Michelle Rowe who organized a bake sale for the evening raising $241.00.

This year we were able to provide for 32 Books 1children in grade school and 5 students enrolled in higher education programs seeking degrees nursing, accounting and as electricians thanks to your donations. While we were not able to provide new uniforms this year, tuition, books 2fees and test books were purchased in time for the opening of school. It is never too late to help with expenses throughout the year.

Once again we will be planning Destination India 2014 for November/December. If you are interested get in touch with me as soon as possible so arrangements can be made. It will change your life.

Thank you for supporting this vital ministry and God bless you all.

Under His Wings,
Rajkumar (Dot Marketto.)
